Since its foundation has nurtured athletes and ski professionals with enthusiasm and passion. Founded in 1948 by “the Cesco”, alias Francesco Kostner, the Ladinia Ski Club started the skiing era in Corvara. Since then, every year new athletes, instructors, coaches and a large number of associates feed this ski-gem in Val Badia, an exclusive ski destination in the Dolomites, Italy, well- known throughout Europe and the world.

The tradition of skiing has a long story in Alta Badia, and it has it roots in every family. The values underlying the Ladinia Ski Club in Alta Badia are the solid principles of our valley. Educate our youth in the values of sport, in individual respect, in love for nature and for our land, in knowing how to deal with difficulties, in knowing how to recognize that no one is always at the top. Perhaps this is this reason that encourages us to continue strive for the best. In Val Badia, skiing is truly part of our life.
Ski Club with Athlets and top Coach
The Ski Club Ladinia in Alta Badia now count about 300 members and about a hundred agonists, followed by amongst the best trainers such as the “Sício” – Sigfrid Costamoling, Roberto Grigis, Heidi Schrott, coaches who have made history.
The team of coaches is always active and attentive in managing athletes in all categories every year. They are the new generation, the beating heart of a skiing tradition that has stood out for almost 80 years in Val Badia and has given birth to world-renowned athletes such as Francesco Kostner, Edoardo Agreiter, Marcello Varallo, Evi Pitscheider, Cristina Gravina, Eveline Rudiferia, Roberto Erlacher, Bruno Caslunger, Heidi Schrott, Wilma Pezzedi, Giacomo Erlacher, Silvana Erlacher, Arnold Ploner, Stefan Thaler.
Not only ski. Love and passion for all winter sports
Love for all winter sports, this is the Ladinia Ski Club. In addition to alpine skiing, we also find the important Nordic skiing team, with champion athletes such as Maria Canins, who today trains a team of agonists among which Deborah Agreiter stands out. The snowboarding team is very strong, including Marion Posch and Alessandra Pescosta, Ivo Rudiferia and Carlo Frenademez, who have reached the top of the world rankings of this free and demanding discipline. For freestyle let’s mention Klaus Pescolderungg and for sloopestyle Marco Grigis.
True passion and tradition for skiing
Since 1933 Hotel Sassongher in Corvara has handed down the values of skiing and of our land, Val Badia in the heart of the Dolomites. Every year we host athletes for the prestigious FIS Ski World Cup Gran Risa race, known and loved by ski enthusiasts from all over the world. During the winter season our guests love to exchange opinions and advice on the best routes in the Dolomiti Super Ski area, a true paradise for all winter sports lovers. For the best skiing experiences, we offer our guests dedicated services such as the shuttle to comfortably reach the slopes or the Ski Pass service to be collected directly at the hotel, without going through the ski pass office.
