In Alta Val Badia, in the heart of the Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage Site, a series of events to discover the traditions of the Ladin world. Tradition, architecture and good taste of the Ladin world.  To enjoy that authentic spirit appreciated all over the world. 

Noza da Paur – Ladin Village Wedding

In San Linêrt (San Leonardo), a characteristic village of Badia, is held a traditional parade of the Ladin world: the village wedding. In typical costumes, following the traditions handed down from generation to generation, the ladin community join this classic event.
On board typical horse-drawn carriages and sleighs, the young Ladins, proud of their traditions still alive, evoke the beauty of a world not even too far away.

Sön les pedies dla cultura ladina – Discover the Ladin culture

They are called “les Viles” and are the typical buildings of the Ladin valleys of the rural villages. They are built on a particular basic shape, the “Rhaetian tambra“, similar to the traditional mountain hut.  Unlike the farmsteads, single buildings isolated from each other, “les vilas” were often grouped close together, so as to favor families in small communities. For example, some of them had their own mill to grind the harvested wheat of their fields.  Excursion along the typical Ladin rural houses the “Viles”.

“Discovering the Ladin culture” is a beautiful walk in the nature,  accompanied by a guide, to discover the wonderful culture and traditions of Val Badia. Walks are suitable for everyone, takes place in the day, from 10.15 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., with a snack at Maso Alfarëi.

La spëisa ladina. Dishes of the Ladin tradition – Cookery course

A healthy and tasty appointment with the Ladin tradition!  A cooking course to take home with you the best flavours of Val Badia, simple and genuine dishes. Based on cereals, vegetables, mushrooms and many fruits of the forest that grow wild in our wonderful nature, traditional Ladin cuisine offers appetizing dishes that have stood the test of time! 

Do not miss the excellent meat dishes such as goulash, accompanied by the puccia, a particular black rye bread perfect for dipping into the sauce!  At the Alfarëi farm, the cook Rosa will introduce you to tricks and knowledge about the art of Ladin cuisine.
