Badia hosts a charming banquet under the starry sky

The village of Badia shall host the first ever “Cena sotto le stelle” (“Dinner under the stars”) event, an exclusive banquet “alfresco” organised in the heart of the village, right in front of the charming church of San Leonardo.
The long table alone creates a festive air, where locals will join the guests welcomed from all over the world, creating a unique event.
A menu with a range of courses, rich in delicacies and local products, will to be transformed into an unforgettable day for all who take part. Bookings can be made directly via the Alta Badia offices.

Show-cooking amongst the peaks

Show Cooking events are always exciting, but when they are enjoyed in the midst of a natural setting offering a 360° view of the Dolomites, there is no comparison. Hence, in July and August, Alta Badia together with some of our rifugios will be holding fantastic high-altitude show-cooking spectaculars.
Participants will discover exceptional recipes, preparing them step-by-step flanked by a great Chef, learning all the steps and the simple and significant tips from the masters of cooking. All this concludes with tasting the delights prepared.

Nos dai strudli – Strudel Evening
An event dedicated to South Tyrol’s sweetest speciality

It delights thanks to being soft and sweet. The combination of flavours that pair the sour taste of rennet apples with the sweet taste of raisins, sprinkled with cinnamon and various other spices, renders this dish an absolute wonder. Its fragrant pastry encasing the delicious filling makes it all the more enjoyable.
In South Tyrol, strudel is a real speciality, known and exported all over the world. Our tradition is strongly connected to this speciality. For this reason, Val Badia has decided to honour this dessert with a dedicated event: “Nos dai strudli”, the Strudel evening, throughout which you can savour all the variations of our extraordinary strudel, sweet or savoury. Along the main street of San Leonardo/Badia, naturally being closed to traffic for the occasion, traditional music with enliven the evening.
There will be chefs and confectioners present at the range of tasting stands, presenting their interpretations of strudel.
The entire village shall be illuminated by torchlight and candlelight in order to render a surreal atmosphere to the celebration.

At the Museum Ladin Ursus Ladinicus – evening event

The Museum Ladin Ursus Ladinicus is the special location for this evening’s “apericena” (a blend of ‘aperitivo’ – or, aperitif – and ‘cena’ – being dinner in Italian), accompanied by atmospheric music. In the presence of a welcome special guest – the prehistoric Conturines Cave Bear – you can enjoy excellent still or sparkling white wines and fruity cocktail delights accompanied by tasty appetisers and finger-foods. This special event shall transport you back in time, on an exploration of the history of our land, thanks to the stories of geologists and naturalists present during the evening.
The best local restaurateurs will offer tastings and delicious dishes, with unforgettable flavours.

Plajëis y duciaries
For lovers of all things sweets

Those who are fond of sweets will find paradise here. In Colfosco, two editions are scheduled of the highly-anticipated event, “Plajëis y duciaries”, the fair dedicated to sweet delights organised in the pedestrian area surrounding the piazza of the local church, taking place on 31st July and 7th August. Master confectioners, refined chefs, sweet-tooths, gourmands and lovers of small and sweet temptations will unite to celebrate the best of pâtisserie delights and local delicacies in Val Badia, starting with many reinterpretations of the most famous South Tyrolean dessert, the strudel in this veritable open-air pastry shop.
The music of the band Calfosch – Corvara will accompany the evenings, enlivening the sweet atmosphere.
What’s more, there will even be a show within the show: from the piazza before the Church, you can conveniently witness the evocative torchlight procession of the Via Ferrata Tridentina, led by members of the Alta Badia mountain rescuers.
All this, of course, whilst tasting the favourite sweets that can be purchased directly from the many stands taking part.
