Amongst the “oldest” mountains in the history of the earth, their millenary rocks represent a universal value of humanity. Covered by a dense network of paths and routes traced over time by mountain populations, which often connected one valley to another, the Dolomites are the destination of many mountain enthusiasts from all over the world. Thanks to the numerous lifts of all kinds, such as cable cars, chair lifts, cable cars, you can reach high altitude destinations and then “get lost” in breathtaking panoramas. How orienteering?

From the Cir to the Averau, 2 days excursion

Through the photos of our guests, let’s go through a two-day itinerary organized by the concierge service of the Hotel Sassongher. Jimmy refuge, Crespëina lake, Edelweiss refuge, Cinque Torri and via ferrata on the Averau. Medium-demanding excursion with priceless views, in the Puez-Odle Nature Park. Natural beauty, pure sense of freedom and adrenaline!

From Corvara to the Lake Crespëina, in the Cir Group Mountain

Day 1. Reinforced breakfast at the Hotel Sassongher in Corvara, the best way to start with momentum. With the conveniente shuttle directly from the Hotel Sassongher, we reach the departure station of the Borest – Frara cable car to go up to the Jimmy Hutte mountain hut. Just a quick stop to admire the wonderful Cir Group in front of us and we set off towards Passo Cir. The spectacular panoramic view accompanies us along the way, making us forget the effort and collecting only the gratitude of experiencing a wonderful dimension. The route continues up to Lake Crespëina at 2374 m. With its emerald colors and the surrounding mountain landscape, it offers a postcard setting.

Let’s continue the walk until we reach the Edelweiss mountain hut. Its panoramic view is already an invitation to stop, but it is the certainty of healthy and genuine local flavors that definitely makes us hungry. A little rest while admiring the spectacular meadows and surrounding peaks such as Sassongher and Sass Ciampac and we set off again towards Corvara. The Sassongher hotel awaits us with its spectacular skySPA and wellness center for moments of pure relaxation. We can’t wait!

1st Day: from Corvara trough the Cir Group moutains

5 Torri and via ferrata up to Averau. Adrenaline and wonders.

Day 2: if a good morning starts in the morning, the panoramic view from our room immediately tells us that it will be a fantastic day. One of the most iconic destinations in the Alps awaits us, the 5 Torri, and moments of pure adrenaline with a via ferrata up on the Averau. Our expert guide awaits us to make us discover the beauty of this spectacular alpine environment. The emotion does not wait. We reach the departure point of the Cinque Torri chairlift via Passo Falzarego. We can admire the peaks on our left: a spectacular view.

We reach the Averau moutain hut at an altitude of 2413 m. and from there we proceed to the start of the Averau ferrata, to ascend the highest peak of the Nuvolau Group, up to 2649 m. The experience of the non-binding via ferrata is extremely exciting and the presence of an expert guide makes us feel safe. The arrival at the summit cross repays soul and spirit with an unparalleled view. We are completely surrounded by the peaks that make up the history of our land: Marmolada, Civetta, Croda Da Lago, Tofana, Lagazuoi, Pordoi, a surprising panorama over the entire Alta Badia, where we can also see our beloved Sassongher hotel. It’s time to go back, not before a delicious stop at the Averau refuge for lunch at high altitude.

2nd Day: 5 Torri and via ferrata up to Averau

On the way back we head towards the Sassongher, the emblem peak of Alta Badia which with its 2665 m. dominates the valley. The Hotel Sassongher stands right at its feet, with a panoramic view of Corvara. After the wonderful excursion, the exclusive services of the hotel await us, the gourmet dinner service choosing the restaurant with a panoramic view or the characteristic Stube and excellent drinks at the Sassongher’s bar.
